There are many stories surrounding the origins of String Dolls, Voodoo String Dolls and keychains, with many accounts tracing their roots to Northern Thailand.
Today, these quirky little characters have become popular accessories across Asia and the USA, bringing personality to bags, keys, collections and gifts.
We think the UK and Europe are next! With so many characters to discover and so much personality packed into every doll, we reckon these little creations could take on the world.
THE ART OF STRING DOLLS
From a single string to a little character.
Originally, farmers in Northern Thailand created doll-like figures from straw in their spare time. These were given to loved ones as tokens of affection and lucky charms.
As textiles became more readily available, straw was replaced with string, and the modern String Dolls were born.

The makers behind our dolls bring years of skill, patience and creativity to their craft. Where our suppliers’ working arrangements allow, artisans can work from home, giving them greater flexibility to balance their craft with family life.
